The short version: SlimScan does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, anywhere, ever. Everything below explains exactly why that's true.
Every scan, crop, colour adjustment, and PDF SlimScan builds happens entirely on your iPhone or iPad. Your documents are never uploaded to us or to any third party. SlimScan has no server — there is nothing for your documents to be sent to.
Your documents leave your device only when you choose to send them — for example by tapping Email, Share, or Print. At that point, whatever app or service you picked (Mail, WhatsApp, AirPrint, etc.) handles the file under its own privacy policy. SlimScan itself has no part in that transfer beyond handing the file over.
SlimScan asks for camera access to let you scan paper documents, and photo library access if you choose to import existing images. Images are processed on-device and are not read, copied, or transmitted by SlimScan for any purpose other than building the PDF you asked for.
None. SlimScan contains no analytics framework, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter that phones home, and no tracking pixels of any kind. We do not know how many people use SlimScan, what they scan, or how they use it. There is nothing in the app that could tell us.
The one-time "SlimScan Unlimited" unlock is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit, Apple's in-app purchase system. SlimScan never sees your payment details, billing address, or card information — Apple handles all of it under Apple's own privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was completed, with no personal information attached.
We do not share, sell, or rent any data, because we do not collect any. The only third party involved in using SlimScan at all is Apple, solely for app distribution (App Store) and, if you buy the unlock, for processing that one payment.
SlimScan does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. The app is rated 4+ and can be used by anyone without creating an account or providing any personal information.
Because SlimScan holds no personal data about you on any server, there is no account data to access, export, or delete on request — there simply isn't any. Anything SlimScan has ever "known" about your documents exists only on your own device, and deleting the app removes it completely.
If this policy ever changes — for example if a future version of SlimScan adds an optional feature that involves a server — we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above, and describe the change plainly in that version's release notes.
